Waterville TG, summer 2026
30 switches obtained under warranty
Situation
In summer 2026, replacing the switches at Waterville TG was one of the six assignments IT management gave me.
I sat in on the system administrators’ infrastructure meetings, and the assignment came out of those discussions.
What I did
As a level 2 support intern, I checked the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty, model by model, then prepared the claims.
Result
$63,486 in purchases avoided, before tax, at public prices on August 5, 2026.Note 1
The claims were accepted and 30 switches were supplied at no cost.
How it went, May 25 to August 14, 2026
-
My second internship at Waterville TG started, this time in level 2 support.
-
Coverage check
I checked each model in the fleet against the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty.
-
Claims
I prepared the claims, and they were filed under that warranty.
-
By the date of my internship report, the claims had been accepted.
-
My internship ended with this assignment delivered.
Notes
-
How the avoided costs were calculated
The $63,486 total, before tax, comes from public prices on August 5, 2026, compared across three supplier pages for each model.
For each model, the three prices match; gaps under $0.01 count as equal.
Only posted retail prices are used.
The report also gives $176,520 in equivalent catalogue value for the same 30 units.
